Our History
In this era of financial institution mergers and "mega bank" takeovers, QNB takes pride in being one of the few surviving independent banks in Bucks, Lehigh and Montgomery Counties.
Through proficient management, responsive service and civic involvement, QNB tradition is always evolving ... its heritage forever woven into the fabric of its community.
QNB's stability and longevity is due, in large part, to its attentive, capable and enduring leadership. From 1877 until the present time, only six presidents have served the bank. Under the guidance of Philip D. Miller, who was elected bank president in 1966, the bank experienced dramatic surges in assets, physical space and community stature. In the 1970s the organization outgrew its seventy-year old quarters and moved to its present downtown location at 15 North Third Street. QNB opened its first branch, the Country Square Office, in 1973 and expanded outside Quakertown by opening the Dublin Village Office in 1981.
Thomas J. Bisko, QNB's current president and chief executive officer, continues the bank's tradition of dedicated service to both its customers and the community of Quakertown. Under his leadership QNB opened branches in the neighboring areas of Coopersburg, Pennsburg, Perkasie, Souderton and, in 2004, a supermarket branch in Quakertown. Today current assets total $619 million.
Always at work to oblige ever-changing customer needs, QNB continues to expand its spectrum of personal and commercial banking services with a view toward providing ever-greater value to its customers.
